Empowering Young Feminists: Bulgarian AGORA
The Bulgarian platform European Women’s Lobby is hrilled to share that 17 young women and girls, aged 18-30, took part in the AGORA event, organised as part of the European Women’s Lobby’s project “National AGORAs and Mentoring Programs: New Methods to Engage Young Feminists in Decision-Making and Leadership”.
During the event, participants engaged in meaningful discussions about feminism, gender stereotypes, sexism, and the everyday challenges young women and girls face. They also explored a vision for a better, more equal world.
By the end of the day, an exciting idea was born – an essay contest on "Social Change for Equality." The authors of the best essays will be invited to a special conference focused on the role of local government in empowering women.
The AGORA took place at the Center for the Prevention of Violence and Crime, managed by Асоциация Деметра/Demetra Association.
