Introduction European policy legislation on equality between women and men EWL lobbies European institutions and takes position for the improvement of European gender equality legislation and for women’s needs to be taken into account in other areas.   EWL activities EWL 12 priorities in view of the Belgian EU Presidency This document presents the priorities defined by the European Women’s Lobby in the area of equality between women and men and women’s rights in view of the Belgian EU Presidency. Article 5 relates to insurance products in particular.   EWL Position Papers EWL Position Paper on Care Issues May 2006 - The EWL officially launched its "Who Cares?" campaign at its Board meeting in May 2006 with the adoption of a Position Paper. This Paper focuses on the provision of affordable, accessible and high quality care services for all dependents, available to all women and men whatever their financial situation.   Gender Equality Road Map for the European Community 2006-2010 November 2005 - The European Women’s Lobby has defined six main themes with Strategic Objectives and concrete actions to be undertaken by the European Commission between 2006 and 2010. These themes are partly inspired by the Strategic Objectives of the United Nations Beijing Platform for Action (1995).   EWL Position paper on the setting up of a European Gender Equality Institute, May 2005 May 2005 - The European Women’s Lobby represents more than 4000 women’s organisations across Europe, which have been consulted and hereby put forward their common position on the creation of a European Equality Gender Institute.   Other resources & Links May 2009: Gender Budgeting: Key questions for candidates running for the European Elections The Network Gender Mainstreaming Experts International (GMEI) and BiGBudget as the Fedaral lobby group for Gender Budgeting in Germany have drafted their Key questions for candidates running for the European Elections of June 2009.
