EWL National Coordination for Turkey (EWLNCT-AKLTUK in Turkish)

Presentation:

The Association for Supporting and Training Women Candidates (KA-DER founded 1997, in Turkey), is a non-partisan organization and considered as the first political movement of women.

KA-DER has 17 branches in major cities. The number of its membership exceeds 3000 that comprise of women from various political parties as well as of women with no party affiliations.

 

 Objectives:

- empowering and encouraging women to develop strategies for effective and equal participation at local and national parliaments; and to be represented at all decision making bodies.

- Ensuring that gender equality perspective is mainstreamed into all institutions that make up the society

- Colloborating with other women’s NGOs and women’s branches of political parties to enhance the position of women at decision making levels

- Encouraging women to become candidates through providing training, supporting campaigns and appealing to the political parties to increase the number of women nominees.
