EWL contribution on the future of European gender equality policies

06/07/09 EWL Contribution: European Legislation on Gender Equality in Insurance Services
The EWL, together with the AGE Platform and the Belgian consummers' organisation Test/Achats has prepared a contribution on the implementation of Article 5 of Directive 2004/113 on gender equality in relation to goods and services. Article 5 relates to insurance products in particular.

October 2007 - The EC's Roadmap for equality between women and men was launched in March 2006 with the goal of accelerating progress toward gender equality in six priority areas.The present report analyses progress made in the implementation of the Roadmap by the EC and points out the areas where steps are still to be taken.

December 2005 - The EC has designated 2007 as 'European Year of Equal Opportunities for All'. Activities during the Year will concern equality and non-discrimination for all, including women.
