[Brussels, 26 October 2012] The EWL - Board members, Observatory experts and staff - call on you to join them on 14 February 2013 to dance and rise to end violence against women!
On 14 February 2013, one billion women and men are expected to strike, dance and rise against violence against women. This event, called ‘One billion rising’, has been initiated by V-Day, and aims at gathering as many people as possible to challenge and shatter the global acceptance of violence against women.
The EWL wants to be part of this global call for action, and will organise an event in Brussels on 14 February 2013. One billion rising will make the earth move by uniting us through music and dance across every country, showing the world our collective strength and solidarity across borders. The EWL will use this opportunity to recall the commitments made at European level and call for an EU Year and Strategy to End Violence against Women.
You too can help us to make a Europe free from violence a reality! You can act by:
One in three women on the planet will be raped or beaten in her lifetime. Join us to rise, dance and sing to end violence against women in Europe on 14 February 2013!
