One Billion Rising in Brussels

EWL mobilises for One Billion Rising. Learn lyrics and dance!

[Brussels, 21 December 2012] On 14 February 2013, the EWL will join the global One Billion Rising movement with a flashmob in the heart of Brussels, dancing to the tune of “Rise Up, Stand Up!”, a composition specially created for the event by singer and songwriters Mary-Ann Struthers and Guy Rens.

The One Billion Rising movement aims to raise awareness about and protest violence against women. One in three women will suffer physical violence during her lifetime, meaning one billion women in the world. Everyday in Europe 7 women die because of domestic violent attacks by their husbands or partners.

Join us in the heart of Brussels, the heart of Europe, on Valentine’s Day 2013, and dance with us, rise up, stand up against violence against women!
