(Brussels, 24 May) Over the last 23 years, the EWL has worked to promote women’s rights with women’s organisations throughout Europe.
Our members and supporters of the EWL sent letters and e-mails, made telephone calls and engaged in media activity and online mobilisation, and convinced Members of the European Parliament - against all the odds - to vote in favour of stronger maternity and paternity leave rights for all new parents in Europe in 2010!

(Brussels 17 May) With one week to go, the EWL team running for HERstory are almost ready for the final long runs, and the pasta eating that the 20kms needs. 40 runners from across Europe and beyond, aged 16-54 years, will come together to run for women’s rights and be part of HERstory – here’s how you can support them!

(Brussels, 16 May 2013) 22-year-old Beatriz, mother of a one year-old-boy, living in San Salvador, is at high risk of death due to life threatening complications during her second pregnancy. She has lupus, an auto-immune disease which causes the body’s immune system to attack its own tissue, and is therefore at "high risk of death" if the pregnancy continues. Moreover, the foetus is unviable since it is missing a large part of the brain and skull.

(Brussels 10 May) It’s the 10th of May. D-day is the 26th of May. We haven’t quite got to the final countdown, and some of our training sessions have been held up by Belgian thunderstorms, but that won’t get our spirits down. The EWL running team is raring to go for the Brussels 20kms, and we’d love your help in sponsoring their efforts. We’ve spoken about this every week for the last few weeks, but your donations and contributions really do make a difference.

(Brussels 10 May) The International Canoe Federation and the International Olympic Committee are not adding women’s canoeing events to the 2016 Olympics because the sport is “not developed enough”. But by not having the sport represented at the Olympic games, whose adage is “sport is a human right” - how can this do anything buy discourage the development of a sport that is in fact thriving?

(Brussels 03 May) With under a month left, we hope that your training for the 20kms of Brussels is coming along well. Our fourty-strong team of runners are getting ready for the 10.00am departure time in the Parc Cinquantennaire on Sunday the 26th of May the heart of Brussels. (30 avril 2013) Face à un rejet important du système démocratique en France les associations Parité et Les Marianne de la diversité ont lancé une pétition sur la limitation du cumul des mandats des député-e-s. (Brussels 26 April 2013) The EWL running team will take to the streets of Brussels in exactly one months time to run to support the work and actions of the European Women’s Lobby. A 40 strong team of men and women, wearing our lovely bright lime green, will pounding the pavements for 20kms to prove to themselves and their supporters that change is possible.

(Brussels, 12 April 2013) Women in Black (WIB) is a worldwide resistance movement against war, all kinds of violence, homophobia, sexism, nationalism, as well as militarism and the militarization of society. The first international conference of WIB was held in 2011 in Bogota by women from Colombia. The Women in Black Leuven plan to hold a conference in Belgium in May 2014.

(Brussels, 12 April 2013) Last Sunday, the news that the Danish government decided to cut funding to KVINFO’s mentor network arrived. The mentoring network, one of the most successful integration projects ever in Denmark, will now lose its public funding.
