EWL Danish members organise international conference on trafficking and prostitution for EU Danish Presidency

[Brussels, 9 February 2012] The EWL campaign ’Together for a Europe free from prostitution’ will be presented in an international conference on trafficking and prostitution, to be organised in Denmark on 23 March.

The conference, entitled Trafficking and Prostitution: Global Problems, Local and Regional Solutions is organised by EWL member organisation Women’s Council in Denmark. In relation to the Danish presidency of the EU, Women’s Council in Denmark wants to underline the importance of keeping the fight against trafficking to prostitution as a top priority on the international agenda.

Politicians, experts and NGO representatives will present diverse perspectives on trafficking and prostitution, and introduce different solutions to the problem, with both a local and international outlook.

Pierrette Pape, EWL Policy Officer and Project Coordinator, will present EWL campaign ’Together for a Europe free from prostitution’ in the panel dedicated to the NGO perspective on trafficking and prostitution.
