    [Brussels, 04 March 2016] The European Commission has launched a proposal for the European Union to sign and ratify the Council of Europe’s Istanbul Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence.     MEPs urge Commission to table a new gender equality strategy

    [3 February 2016, Press Release of FEMM Committee] The European Commission must table a communication on a new strategy for gender equality and women’s rights 2016-2020 as soon as possible and deliver on its political commitments, say MEPs in a resolution voted on Wednesday.
