Join the EWL on 14 February 2013 to rise and dance against violence against women!
[Brussels, 26 October 2012] The EWL - the Board Members, the experts of the European Observatory on Violence against Women and the staff - call to join them on 14 February 2013, dancing and rising up to end violence against women!
On 14 February 2013, one billion women and men are called to stand up and dance to show that they refuse violence against women. "One Billion Rising" was initiated by V-Day and aims to collect the largest possible number of people to challenge and break the social acceptance of violence against women.
The EWL participates in this global call to action, and is organizing a Flash Mob in the heart of Brussels. The different EWL coordinations all across Europe are also involved in the organization of events One Billion Rising at national level. One billion people rising are going to make the earth dancing. Through music and dance in all countries, we will show the world our collective strength and solidarity without borders. The EWL will take this opportunity to recall the commitments made at the European level and call for a European Year and a European strategy to end violence against women.
