Stefania Francescon joined the EWL in October 2018 as Programme Manager, and member of the Programme Hub. Her role is to contribute to the development and delivery of plans for resourcing and growth of the feminist movement, project monitoring and evaluation, and capacity building on financial sustainability and resilience.

Stefania has a track record in the youth and non-formal education sector. Before joining the EWL, from 2012 to 2018, she worked for the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), also an EWL member, as Fundraising Manager and previously as Development Executive in charge of the sustainable development of the European Girl Guide/Scout Organisations.

Originally from Italy, Stefania moved to Brussels in 2011 to work at the European Federation for Intercultural Learning (EFIL) where she successfully contributed to the creation of new organisations for intercultural exchanges in Romania and Bulgaria.

Thanks to her professional background and volunteering experience as Guide/Scout leader, Stefania strongly believes in the power of (non-formal) education to fight stereotypes and grow a generation of responsible citizens committed to leave this world better than they found it.

Stefania holds a binational Master degree on International Relations by the University of Torino (Italy) and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques of Bordeaux (France).

Passionate about travelling, and with a long background as a Girl Scout, Stefania enjoys getting outside and being in the nature, hiking, camping, biking and skiing. In a remote past life with more free time, she enjoyed reading many books and playing the violin, now she likes cooking for friends and eating good food!
