The EWL welcomes Pierrette Pape as its acting Coordinator

[Brussels, 17 January 2013] The European Women’s Lobby welcomes the decision of its Executive Committee to offer the position of Acting Coordinator to Pierrette Pape, EWL Policy Officer and Project Coordinator until the new EWL Secretary General takes position in the coming months. Pierrette will be taking over from Secretary General Cécile Gréboval, who leaves the EWL after more than 17 years of commitment and excellent work for women’s rights in Europe.

Pierrette Pape joined the EWL in 2009. Working as Policy Officer and Project Coordinator, Pierrette monitors and influences EU policies related to violence against women, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and armed conflict. Pierrette is the coordinator of EWL campaign ‘Together for a Europe free from prostitution’ and coordinates the network of abolitionist NGOs ‘The Brussels’ Call’. She also developed the recent work of the EWL on men and feminism. Since 2013, she is in charge of the advocacy work of the EWL at United Nations level, being an EWL representative at the Commission on the Status of Women in New York. A feminist activist, Pierrette is also very involved on a personal level in the activities of various women’s NGOs in Belgium.
