EWL takes part to GUE Feminist Forum, 6-9 March 2017

[Brussels, 28 February 2017] As part of the celebration of Internatinal Women’s Day, the European Women’s Lobby has been invited to join several activities organised by the European political group GUE/NGL, in the framework of their Feminist Forum, from 6 to 9 March, in the European Parliament.

Entitled "Struggling for women’s rights to build the future", the Forum will bring together activists, women’s organisations, decision-makers experts, and propose analysis and alternatives to promote women’s human rights.

On Tuesday 7, the EWL will speak during a session on "Women asylum-seekers and refugees" and will present its #womensvoices project.

We will also take part to the activities on Wednesday 8 March, under the theme of ending violence against women, prostitution and sex trafficking. We will dance for the flashmob One Billion Rising, and we will take part to the session on the Nordic Model on prostitution.

We are also delighted to see that the theatre play "Plainte contre X" will be performed inside the EP, on Wednesday at 7pm. A good opportunity to start the conversation on pornography and its (negative) impacts on gender equality... Watch below the trailer.

See below more details on the 2 sessions. You can learn the OBR dance by following the tutorial below. And find out more about the whole programme of the week on the GUE facebook page.
